Museum of Love + New Build Remixes

Museum of Love’s eponymous debut album was one of my favorite albums of 2014.

Next Friday, they will make their LA debut at the Regent Theater as part of a co-headlining tour with New Build (a group lead by Hot Chip members Al Doyle and Felix Martin). If I didn’t have a radio shift that night, I’d totally be there.

This week DFA Records released a free split digi-single with remixes of tracks by both bands.

Museum of Love’s “The Who’s Who of Who Cares” was one of my favorite tracks from the album and it gets a nice rework by local duo Daniel T. (whose recent remix and edit work has been super on point and can be found on his Soundcloud page and Cooper Saver, who beef up the brooding original with a little more dancefloor punch.

Table Man’s percussive remix of New Build’s “Pour It On” has a lush, end-of-night closer kinda vibe.

Interpol – “What Is What”

Head over to Interpol’s website and type in Everything Is Wrong in the box and you’ll get a zip file with the single “Everything Is Wrong” and a previously unreleased track, ostensibly from the “El Pintor” sessions, called “What Is What“.

I have no idea why “What Is What” was left off the album, but it’s definitely in line with the sound of the rest of “El Pintor“, and would’ve been the second best track on the album had it been included.

You can snag “What Is What” as a free download now and pick it on a forthcoming 7″ due out next spring.
