Typically, on the Saturday of LAMC, things decompress and we can just take in the music.

But not this year.  With Raul broadcasting his show (3-6pm PT) from NYC on Sat and Sun, we had to scramble to make in to Central Park for the last big LAMC Summerstage show and then rush back for some live interviews to broadcast on KCRW.

At Central Park it seems kismet the show was so Argentine-centric with with the country’s Football team staged to represent the nation in the World Cup Match Final on Sunday — the crowd was awash with Football Jersey’s sporting Argentina’s colors to cheer on electrofolk singer-songwriter and long-time KCRW favorite, Juana Molina and headliners the psychedelic-rock group Babasónicos.

But L.A. was representin’ in Nueva York with one of our favorite home-grown bands — the signature party sound of La Santa Cecilia.

After a gorgeous summer day in Central Park we raced back to our makeshift studios in the Affinia Hotel to broadcast the show and meet-up with La Santa Cecilia for a live broadcast between sets of their performance at SoHo’s SOBs the night previous and then an interview and DJ Set with Venezuelan-born, Miami-based Grammy-winning Producer and re-mixer, Mr. Pauer.

After the show, we kept with tradition — and took in our first chance of the week for a sit-down in New York.  Delicious seasonal-selection New American dishes at Diner in Williamsburg is highly recommended from all of us reppin’ KCRW at LAMC.

One more day in New York to bring you some live music tomorrow as KCRW’s coverage of LAMC’s Quinceañera comes to a close. After all these years, what a lady she’s become!
