Long Beach band Tijuana Panthers have a new album called “Wayne Interest” produced by Richard Swift coming this summer (June 3) on local label Innovative Leisure and they’re promising a sneak peek at some unreleased and exclusive tunes at Friday’s show at the Natural History Museum.

It’s part of the First Fridays series where the museum stays open late and the African Mammal Hall becomes a dance party with KCRW DJs Anthony Valadez and Raul Campos on the decks, in addition to the live band performances.

Check out an excellent track from Tijuana Panthers’ album “Semi-Sweet”. They go on at 8pm.

Mikal Cronin headlines this evening of rock and hits the stage at 9:15pm. Merge Records released his sophomore album last year. The LA native relocated to San Francisco and recorded it there, playing almost all the instruments himself. It’s a fine effort, particularly “Weight”.

Pre-sale tickets are sold out but there will be limited tickets available at the door. Get there early!

Coming up on May 2, LA band Holychild will perform, with Groundislava featuring Rare Times supporting. Advance tickets are available now!
