Song of the Week: So Good at Being in Trouble

When a song gets stuck in my head for two weeks, I know it’s time to share it on the Music Blog.

With groovy guitar hooks and a killer chorus, as well as a title that is immediately evocative, Unknown Mortal Orchestra have released their best song yet with “So Good at Being in Trouble“, off their new album “II“.

It sounds like a laid back Tame Impala with a dose of retro-soul.  Stream below and find a free download here.

Their last album had some gems like “Ffunny Ffriends“, but geared a bit…well.. weirder, overall.

On their sophomore release, the Portland band – with a Kiwi transplant lead singer – seems to have really focused some of their more wildly creative impulses in a wonderful way that is more accessible and soulful.

The whole albums is great and is out tomorrow on Jagjaguwar. Grab it, you won’t be disappointed.
