It took about 45 second from me to fall in love with Leagues’ forthcoming full length debut. As they describe it themselves, “Leagues is ethereal joy explosions”.
The power pop trio — Thad Cockrell (vocals), Tyler Burkam (guitar), and Jeremy Lutito (drums) – is based out of Nashville but immediately remind me up some of the pop I love so much from the other side of the pond – Phoenix, Two Door Cinema Club and even U2.
Lovelorn lyrics, jangly guitars and soaring vocals – this is right up the RR alley!

This is definitely an album to look forward to in 2013 AND they are coming to town! They’ll be playing KCRW DJ Chris Douridas’ Monday night residency School Night at Bardot on February 11.
