DJ Sets from M83 and John Lydon Added to Masquerade

Written by

KCRW’s annual Halloween bash is now a slam dunk with the addition of post-punk legend John Lydon (yes, the snarling frontman of Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd fame) and LA’s master of dreamy dancefloor fare M83 on the decks!

PiL is back with their first new music release in 20 years, and the always-confident Lydon proudly proclaims the new record among the best work he’s ever done. (It’s also worth mentioning he not only considers himself an Angeleno but is a fellow Westsider, telling us “I’m beachy culture baby!”). It will be his first time making an LA appearance since PiL played Coachella in 2010!

LA-based French artist M83 (aka Anthony Gonzalez) was a highlight of THIS year’s Coachella and is still enjoying the success of his latest album, “Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming”.

Both will spin sets of music that fit their fancy for this KCRW benefit, joining a bunch of KCRW’s own talented spinners –Jason Bentley, Anne Litt, Raul Campos, Liza Richardson, Mathieu Schreyer, and Valida included– as well as turntable wizard Z-Trip and performers Mexican Institute of Sound, Hanni El Khatib, and more.

Advance tickets ($85) are almost sold out. A limited number will be available at the door, however, KCRW is now offering a VIP experience with private cabanas in the largest of the Park Plaza’s five themed rooms. Find out more info here.
