Top 5 Favorite Music Videos Of 2011 by Travis Holcombe

1. Duck Sauce – “Big Bad Wolf” (Slightly NSFW)

This is what it’s all about. The story is great, the video is hilarious and it fits perfectly with the music.

2. Skrillex – “Ruffneck”

Skrillex brings us a late entrant into the Best Video Of 2011 pool. It’s like Santa Claus meets Falling Down. A simple concept executed brilliantly.

3. Beastie Boys – “Fight For Your Right (Revisited)”

It felt to have the Beasties back in 2011. As far as music videos go, this was a Lawrence Of Arabia-level epic. Even if you weren’t a Beastie Boys fan (shame on you!) you could still have fun picking out the celebrity cameos.

4. Jay-Z & Kanye West – “Otis”

Spike Jonze directed this one and it has a lot of the energy of the Beastie Boys’ “Sure Shot” video way back when. Plus, when was the last time you’ve seen two dudes look like they’re having this much fun in a music video?

5. TV On The Radio – “You”

I love the premise! These guys always come off as so serious, it was fun to see them play against type.

HONORABLE MENTION:

Jacuzzi Boys – “Glazin'” (NSFW)

Mayer Hawthorne – “A Long Time”

Zanger Rinus – “Met Romana op de scooter”
