The Postelles met in high school, when they were searching for other musicians who would take being in a band seriously. They were inspired by the era of NYC music in the early/mid-70’s, when CBGBs reigned supreme. With a poppy garage rock sound, it was only natural that The Strokes’ Albert Hammond Jr. would come on board help with production duties, resulting in my fave song by the band, “1 2 3 Stop”.
They brought a few treats for us in their live session yesterday – a brand new song that singer Daniel Balk wrote the last time he was in LA called “Tidal Wave” as well as a cover of Wreckless Eric’s “Whole Wide World”.
Check it all out in the archives here.
