I’ll be honest, I was wondering how Toro Y Moi’s music would translate in a live setting. I was a little worried the layers of sound that make his tracks so easy on the ears wouldn’t come through. But my worrying was in vain — it was a killer set. In fact, the songs were more hypnotic live. Chaz Bundick brought a band to back him up, which was key. He talked to Jason about how he feels about the term “chillwave” and his influences. But most of all, this was a great set of music.
