LCD Soundsystem’s latest album “This is Happening” is a slow-burner, but trust me, IT IS THE ONE!
What it “lacks” in anthemic immediacy (it doesn’t have a “Tribulations” or “North American Scum”) it makes up for in sheer throbbing cool and beautifully naked emotion.
It’s like a Brian Eno-produced early ‘80s Don Henley album, if Henley had heard “All My Friends” in 1981.
