Reggae Night at the Hollywood Bowl with Jimmy Cliff

My move to Los Angeles was a bit traumatic, for many reasons, but I got through it thanks to a few key CDs in my collection that kept me calm and focused during the ordeal: Grateful Dead’s “Terrapin Station” (I should mention now I was moving here from hippietown, Austin, TX),  Susan Tedeschi’s bluesy and fierce “Just Won’t Burn,” and The Harder They Come soundtrack. Jimmy Cliff SAVED me and I am forever in his debt for keeping me sane.

That is part of the reason I am super excited about this year’s Reggae Night at the Hollywood Bowl. It’s always one of my favorite nights of KCRW’s World Festival as the crowd is the most fun loving group you’ll see at the Bowl all year. But this year, Jimmy Cliff is headlining alongside Sly & Robbie and Tarrus Riley.

I will be there this Sunday, July 25 swaying to the reggae grooves and I hope you will be too!
