KCRW’s been a longtime supporter of the LA-based turntablist and the various projects he’s been a part of, including Ozomatli and Jurassic Five. This track is a preview from his new live mix album, “Sound of the Police.” Cut Chemist, aka Lucas McFadden, always likes a challenge and he created this disc live using only one turntable, a mixer, a loop pedal and all original vinyl pressings. His inspiration — Ethiopian, Colombian, Sudanese and Afro-Brazilian sounds. The album is due out on July 27.
