Norah Jones on MBE

Norah_Jones_'Chasing_Pirates'_-_Single_2009_Norah Jones brought a brand new band into the studio to play a set of songs off her latest album, “The Fall,” on Morning Becomes Eclectic.  We recorded the special session in NYC so unfortunately there is no video, but her unique voice is as good as it’s ever been. The Grammy-winning songstress explored new territory on “The Fall” — favoring a guitar over the piano and working with a new set of collaborators, including Kings of Leon producer Jacquire King, as well as songwriters Ryan Adams and Okkervil River’s Will Sheff. Jason noted that he could hear a bit of heartbreak in Norah’s new songs. She agreed that they definitely center around human relationships and, well, her dog, as in “Man of the Hour.” She’s surrounded by pups on artwork for her album (photos taken by former Guest DJ Autumn deWilde). None of the dogs on display are her own, but she does have one at home and her friends jokingly accused her of cheating on him when shooting the photos. Hear a nice chat and a beautiful set of music, including “Chasing Pirates” and “Light as a Feather” here.
