LACO launches music director Jeffrey Kahane’s 15th anniversary season September 24 & 25.
Jeffrey Kahane displays his masterful command of the piano performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 as part of Electric. Electric brings together the past and the present with a program that also includes Mozart’s Overture to The Magic Flute and two West Coast premieres.
Osvaldo Golijov takes inspiration from Galileo for one West Coast premiere, Sidereus. The other premiere, LACO composer-in-residence Derek Bermel’s Ritornello, features Wiek Hijmans playing an instrument rarely seen alongside an orchestra: an electric guitar!
The fun won’t stop after the final ovation, either! Stay for the after-party, free for all ticket-holders, and enjoy snacks and delicious cocktails. More information at laco.org.

Sunday, September 25 @ 7 pm
