For generations, nomadic Kazakh men have hunted using eagles in the snowy Mongolian hinterlands. A spectacular, inspirational new film follows a 13-year-old girl fighting to become her family’s first eagle huntress.

The message for young people – especially girls – is: Don’t let anyone tell you what you can or cannot be.

On Thursday the 8th, KCRW’s First Take will screen “The Eagle Huntress” for KCRW sustainers – and up to two teenagers! There will be a Q&A after the film with director Otto Bell and very special guests.

Doors open and food trucks arrive at 6PM, the movie starts at 8.

Sony Pictures Classics will release “The Eagle Huntress” on October 28th.
