Is there re-entry after we get wristbands?

It says up above that there's no re-entry

Anyone know what's available as far as seating?

  • @PamelalinPhoto said:

Its an outdoor event so doubt there will be much as far as seating besides the grass

So are my 'plus 3' rsvp's I initially rsvp'd for still good or what?

  • @MS_Marina said:

can we bring in a blanket to sit on the grass

  • mcell said:

I was wondering about my rsvp as well, I replied to the email I was sent but am I supposed to get a response or was just replying enough?

Wtf I’m driving up from sd? What’s this about a second rsvp reconfirmation? I thought the original rsvp was odd that it was rsvp w a no guarantee entrance. Why even the rsvp if it’s first CFS? Ok now if I didn’t get the second rsvp reduex am I still on list. This is not a way to host an event kcrw. U should know better. I’ll buy tickets. I’m sure the event is worth it but not to know if an rsvp is good and confusing routines to confirm entrance..

Shame on you KCRW. Long time supporters and arriving 2 hours prior only to be turned away. On the drive to the Century City location you continued to promote this event and tell listeners to show up. We waited two hours in line, only to be turned away. Such a dissapointment! Long time Angel supporter. BIG BUMMER!

    No re-entry.

The greens at the Annenberg Space are beautiful and grassy. There are some benches along the side lines, and some walls to lean upon, but mostly folks will be standing and/or sitting in the grass.

  • @kcrw said:

No chairs, but sure, you can bring a towel or blanket. :)

  • @kcrw said:

    Just replying was enough!

  • @kcrw said:

We are so sorry to those we had to turn away. The RSVP does not guarantee entry into the event.

  • Boone said:

Yes, we get that. I think everyone's point is why then have people rsvp at all. That ginormous line would go a lot faster if there wasn't an arbitrary 'check in' table. Just let people breeze through with a light securty bag check. C'mon kcrw, you really should make some changes for this event. Not just repeat in large font that rsvp doesn't guarantee entry.

  • Pat said:

Also turned away. And told by a frustrated staffer than WRISTBANDS WERE HANDED OUT BEGINNING AT TWO O"CLOCK. While most of us thought that showing up at five was the time. So KCRW may be sorry, but actions speak louder than words.

a few thoughts now that i've recovered from my disappointment at not getting in to the raphael saadiq/band of skulls concert last night:

    1) about the RSVP process: either eliminate it altogether OR keep it for KCRW members only at first AND set a time frame, i.e. you have to RSVP within 48 hours or some such time limit. then,
    2) since you know the capacity is 4,000 people, then why don't you guys count up all the RSVPs received by KCRW members and see how many are left? for example, if you only received 2,500 RSVPs, you can then open up the event to 1,500 other people! repeating over and over again that RSVPs aren't guaranteed, that it's FCFS, and that capacity is 4,000 only made us more and more upset.
    3) i can't speak to the lining up/wristband/entry process as we didn't even make it into the parking garage.
    4) i understand that the concert is free, that the exhibit at the annenberg is awesome, that it's l.a. on a saturday night, and that we all love KCRW to pieces, but as someone tweeted last night, this whole series of events was simply irresponsible and a logistical nightmare. all the "we're so sorry we had to turn people away" and "hope to see you at an event soon!" talk did little to make us feel better.

    thanks.
