People have called “The Impossible” “the best Movie of the Week ever.” And that may be true. But even if the characters and the story aren’t deep, the storytelling itself is riveting. And important. And something you should see on the big screen.
I just happen to have tickets to do just that – at the premiere THIS Monday – with stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor in attendance!
“The Impossible” is the true story of a vacationing family caught by the devastating 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Completely overwhelmed by the giant waves, the parents and their three young boys were separated and went through hell to survive and find each other again. But this isn’t a movie that tells you what happened; frankly it would be impossible to convey something of this magnitude in any rational way. Instead, it shows you what happened with truly mind-boggling filmmaking and terrific acting by the entire cast. It will make you feel – for better or worse – that you experienced a little of what they and thousands of others went through.
“The Impossible” will premiere at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood THIS Monday evening the 10th. If you’d like to attend with a guest, comment below and tell me: Why do you think they called this movie “The Impossible?” DON’T FORGET TO LEAVE AN E-MAIL ADDRESS SO THAT I CAN CONTACT IF YOU WIN. Entries must be received by NOON this FRIDAY the 7th. I’ll pick my favorite five responses and notify the winners that evening.
