IPP logo scaleThe Independent Producer Project is KCRW’s initiative to cultivate and support the work of independent media producers and artists. By commissioning both long-term projects and weekly on-air and online content, the IPP provides an opportunity for experienced independent storytellers of all kinds – radio producers, photographers, and multimedia artists – to distribute their unique and compelling content worldwide through KCRW’s radio and digital audience.

The IPP has commissioned work that can be heard across the radio dial, on KCRW programs including UnFictional, Good Food and DnA, and nationally on All Things Considered, This American Life, and The Story. Our multimedia initiatives include the interactive website Sonic Trace and the upcoming Los Angeles ports project by award-winning independent producer Lu Olkowski.

Through the Independent Producer Project, KCRW can continue to take chances on new ways of doing what public radio has always done best – tell the stories that matter and move us. Visit our Donors page to learn more about how you can support the IPP.
