This week, Jonathan Gold takes us to The Bellwether, an American bistro in Studio City.

Chef Ted Hopson, of Father’s Office and Lukshon fame, has brought his chops to the Valley. The next time you’ve got the urge for a patty melt on rye with taleggio cheese and sweet caramelized onions, or some meatballs baked with tomato sauce and ricotta that are served with great grilled ciabatta, head to The Bellwether. Tell them the Pulitzer-Prize winning food writer for the LA Times sent you.

Recommendations: You can’t go wrong with roasted carrots, perfectly crisped french fries, patty melts or meatballs slathered in tomato sauce.

Location: 13251 Ventura Boulevard, Suite A, Studio City, CA 91604 | (818) 285-8184

Tip: Monday is fried chicken night. Try the original or Nashville hot chicken-style.
