What You Should Buy This Weekend from the Farmers’ Market:

Pattypan squash from J&J Organic Farm out of Santa Maria. Look for squashes with a bright color that are heavy for their size.

Purple majestic potatoes from Flora Bella Farms in Three Rivers. Listen to farmer James Birch discuss his potatoes on this week’s Market Report.

Blueberries from Murray Family Farms in Bakersfield.

Yellow Peaches from Burkart Farms in Dinuba. Naturally tart, they mellow as they ripen and soften.
