What does it say about Los Angeles that some of our best chefs invest their culinary time and energy in the art of the taco?

Jonathan Gold, the Pulitzer-prize winning food writer for the L.A. Times reviews Los Angeles based chef Wes Avila’s latest venture, Guerrilla Tacos, a taco truck that frequents the Arts District (typically in front of Handsome Coffee Roasters) and that also visits the westside (click here for their schedule.)

The menu changes daily, and Avila’s tacos feature ingredients ranging from Santa Barbara uni, deep fried beef tendon, and carnitas sourced from Cook’s Pigs Ranch.

Recommended tacos? Jonathan suggests glancing at the menu and saying ‘yes,’– in other words ordering the entire menu with a group of friends.
