Torrontes is considered THE white wine grape of Argentina. The vineyards are high in the Uco Valley, a vibrant sub-region of Mendoza. The wine is harvested by hand and the winemaker makes only 300 cases. The wine is best paired with spicy Thai, Hunan, Korean and Mexican dishes.
2007 Chateau Saint Esteve d’ Uchaux Viognier
This white wine comes from a two century-old vineyard in the Rhone Valley of France. The wine is aged 2-3 years in oak barrels before bottling. It’s a very dry wine and works well with shellfish, roasted chicken, goat cheese and artichokes.
2008 Domaine de Fonte Sainte Corbieres
From Southwestern France, this red wine is primarily Carignan with a bit of Grenache Noir and Syrah to round things out. The grapes are hand-harvested and immediately they go into a steel vat for carbonic maceration (for about 6 months). It’s a soft wine and matches well with braised meats, blue-veined cheese and roasted fowl.
2007 Villa Tonino Nero d’Avola
This grape is the most important red grape of Sicily and it takes its name from the village of Avola. It’s like a blend of Australian Shiraz and Zinfandel, without the high alcohol content. The wine is aged in French and American oak for 3 months. Enjoy this wine with spicy meats, sausage, grilled salmon, pizza and hamburgers.

I too love it when Stacie's on. She's very knowledgable and presents the info on new wines without the snobbishness of others I've heard. Since I consider myself a newbie when it comes to wine, I appreciate her accessible style. The wines that I've tried from her suggestions have all been very good.
