Head to Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery in Yountville, CA and even your pooch can eat like a king.  Amidst red velvet snowman cakes wrapped in fondant scarves, crispy golden croissants, and seasonal macarons (eggnog this week) stands a jar of foie gras dog biscuits.  At $1 a pop it’s the best deal in town.

Evan was on Warren Olney’s Which Way LA? yesterday with City Council President Eric Garcetti.  They had just come out of a meeting with city officials, representatives from the LA Film School and folks from SEE-LA to discuss the ongoing dispute over a parking lot.  We’re expecting some kind of announcement today about the resolution.

A longer segment aired earlier in the week and it’s definitely worth a listen too. (after the jump)

Earlier this week, President Obama signed the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, which expands the USDA’s authority in regulating nutritional guidelines for all food sold in US schools (soda machines, vending machines, etc.).  It’s the first increase in funding for school lunch in 30 years.  The increase in funding is 6 cents per student, per day.  Tom Philpott, who is a guest on Good Food this Saturday, says this bill won’t fundamentally “change the equation,” but it is a step in the right direction.
