Mmmmmm! Meat by-products! Hooray, in the past, women were stupid! Thank GOD those days are over. Of course, this is just about on-par with those annoying Beneful commercials we get these days.
God, I can't believe I grew up in the era. Although, I never had a dog so I didn't really pay attention to those ads. One dog food ad is burned into my brain though. It was for Chuckwagon dog food. An awesome stop motion animation of a miniature stagecoach speeding away from a hungry dog. Ray Harryhausen would be proud.
People generally are still stupid. Advertising is only as sophisticated as is necessary to sell the product to the target audience.
