Renee’s Pot
This is a beautiful, heavy French Copper Confiture pan. It’s for making Jam.
It belonged to my very good friend Renee. I recently lost Renee to cancer. She was an extraordinary woman, a person who lived more than anyone I know. Her engagement with life took up real space. She loved to eat and to cook and was very good at both. She threw herself into cooking and entertaining with verve, yes verve, commitment and style.
I miss her and am grateful that I get to learn how to make jams and preserves using her canning equipment and this beautiful pot.

so sorry for your loss, evan.
that's a great pan. i have one, myself. i hope many batches of deliciousness are simmered in it, in honor of your friend
Evan, I am so sorry you've lost your dear friend and so happy that you have her wonderful copper pan. I have found using the kitchen equipment of my dear ones who've died and cooking their recipes or the their sorts of food is very comforting. Last month my dear aunt-in-law died. At her funeral, her grandchildren (in their late 30's) asked me to work out some of her recipes that they've not been able to duplicate. I went to work first on her apricot hand pies and will be posting the recipe on my blog this Friday. I know they will feel comforted, as will I, every time we make those pies. And I know you will feel comforted every time you make jam or use Renee's pan.
