As a mass consumer of music, I’m constantly perusing the internet for new tunes. Its no joke. I came to the station well aware of KCRW’s unique taste-maker status online. I constantly stumble upon bloggers mentioning our radio station as their route to discovery – from our 24 hour streaming music channel to our extensive online archive. There is a vast well of new music to be explored online. The world at large loves music and wants to share it, and the internet is changing the way we consume that music more and more with each new discovery site. 5 Coolest Tips Taken Home from SXSW Interactive

This year, in addition to running around all over Austin, TX to put on the KCRW Showcase, to broadcast MBE from Tequila Mockingbird, to sponsor the Filter Magazine Culture Collide Showcases, and to discover new music in the evenings, I also got to attend the ever-growing Interactive portion of the SXSW mega-conference. 5 Pro Tips for Starting your own Studio

The way a station “sounds” can be a complicated topic to write about. Here in the production staff, we wear many different hats. We are responsible for recording, editing and many times even chiming in as producer. With a diverse and talented staff such as ours, that can involve content ranging from news or talk shows, to music shows with live performances, and announcers/board operators.
