In ‘do not trust atoms…’ veteran graphic designer April Greiman exhibits her most recent photography, in the showroom of upscale German kitchen designer and manufacturer Bulthaup, now putting on events and exhibitions produced by Tibbie Dunbar, longtime director of A+D Museum.

Tiny House Party on March 18).ome listen to designer and micro-builder Derek Diedricksen, bringing his HGTV Tiny House Project to LA for the first time at the Craft & Folk Art Museum (CAFAM). Diedricksen and guest micro-builders will talk about Tiny House building at a pre-build party Friday evening. You can learn how to create a tiny house from salvaged materials at a building workshop taking place on the weekend. And you can enter a raffle to win your own portable and solar tiny house! 3 ) Opening Reception: cityLAb-UCLA, times 10
Founded in 2006 as a think tank within UCLA’s Department of Architecture and Urban Design, cityLAb-UCLA is celebrating its 10th anniversary of successful collaboration between the university, the architectural profession, citizens, and municipalities addressing contemporary urban issues. Marking its 10th anniversary by looking ten years ahead, cityLAB-UCLA and six young architects exhibit design ideas to spark debate about the future of Los Angeles. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

4 ) Golden Dragon Parade & Chinese New Year Festival
Old meets new as traditional Chinese arts and skills parade alongside modern food trucks and local breweries, face painting alongside traditional Chinese paper-folding. Bring the family, young and old, out for the Golden Dragon Parade, taking place in its 118th year.

5 ) Street Art House Opening Night Party
Part really cool furniture store, part art gallery, the Hängar on Centinela is always a design-rich destination. However, starting Saturday, the art goes full throttle when the Hängar turns into a pop-up gallery, featuring over a dozen street artists from Los Angeles and around the world. Come out for the opening party, meet the artists, enjoy an open bar, music and live painting. And of course, you can shop. 10 percent of all art sales at the event goes to LA’s BEST, in support of their new after school mural project.
