lucy jones 1. Meet and Greet with Lucy Jones “The Earthquake Lady”

Could there be a better time to see a talk with L.A.’s new earthquake czar after today’s 4.4 magnitude jolt (one of the largest earthquakes in the region since Northridge 20 years ago)? Lucy Jones is a seismologist who has worked for the U.S. Geological Survey and other organizations who is now tasked with formulating a plan to prepare Los Angeles for “the big one.” She contends that the vast majority of earthquake damage is preventable, so join ULI to hear her discuss how the city and its residents can better equip itself in the event of a devastating earthquake. Hear her talk about L.A.’s earthquake preparedness on this Which Way LA?.

When: Thursday March 20, 5:30 PM-7:30 PM

Where: DLA Piper 550 South Hope St, Suite 2300, Los Angeles, CA, United States
